Delhi: Anything Goes By Anita Kumar
Delhi: Anything Goes By Anita Kumar
Four friends grow up in Delhi in the ’70s and ’80s before moving to different continents. Decades later, they reunite in Delhi, with its ever-changing landscapes. Reema, the only one to remain in the city of their shared past, is bitten by the high-society bug. Her friends who had moved out, witness a sea-change in her, and during their two-week stay in Delhi, not only do they wake up to the dying and decaying values of Delhi, but also to Reema’s self-destructive ways.
This humorous and witty take on Delhi’s darker side is as entertaining as it is enlightening.
ANITA KUMAR was born in the UK with a heart condition. Brought up in a traditional family, she was frequently hospitalised for different ailments. India was an ideal escape from these ordeals, so she moved to Delhi. However, the city’s weather only added to her woes — physical and psychological. That is when she found refuge in Guruji, who healed her.
A trained calligrapher and painter, Anita is passionate about art. She has held exhibitions on calligraphic Ganeshas and Oms in various galleries. Her inspirational journey, Turning the Page, has touched many lives. She is also the author of The Divine Light.
Dividing her time between Delhi, London and New York, Anita took to writing to express the ever-changing canvas of her life.
